Ar. Arundhati Gupta
Accessibility Consultant
I am Arundhati Gupta, an architect whose journey into accessibility began during my second year of architecture school, when a serious injury required me to use a wheelchair for several months. Experiencing the built environment from this perspective helped me understand the everyday barriers that persons with disabilities encounter in public spaces and infrastructure.
Â
That experience shaped the direction of my work. Since then, I have dedicated my efforts to advancing accessibility and inclusion through architectural design, accessibility audits, disability rehabilitation planning, training field teams, and supporting inclusive initiatives and events.
Â
Through these experiences, I founded Purple Mission to work more systematically towards creating environments, systems, and public experiences that are accessible, inclusive, and equitable for persons with disabilities.
What We Do at Purple Mission
Purple Mission works to advance accessibility and inclusion across built environments, institutions, and public systems. Through accessibility audits, inclusive design, policy advisory, and inclusive public initiatives, we support governments, organisations, and institutions in creating environments that are usable and equitable for persons with disabilities.
Â
Our work combines architectural expertise, on-ground implementation, and ecosystem collaboration to strengthen accessibility in infrastructure, public spaces, and public experiences.
